Virginia Chase Sutton

Virginia Chase Sutton’s second book,What Brings You to Del Amo, was the winner of the Samuel French Morse Poetry Prize. She is also the author of Embellishments and Of a Transient Nature as well as the chapbook Down River and the micro-chapbook After Midnight at the Psych Hospital. Seven-time Pushcart Prize nominee, her poems have won a Louis Untermeyer Scholarship in Poetry at Bread Loaf Writer’s Conference, the Allen Ginsberg Poetry Award, and the National Poet Hunt. Sutton’s poems have appeared in The Paris Review, Ploughshares, QU, Western Humanities Review, Mom Egg Review, and The Laurel Review, among many other journals and anthologies. She has been a fellow at the Ragdale Foundation and Vermont Studio Center. She holds an MFA in poetry from Vermont College of Fine Arts and lives in Tempe, Arizona.
